This is my thematic deck that I built to play through The Road Darkens. I'm playing it single-handed solo. I wanted to make a Gandalf deck since he is the highlight of this box, and I wanted to keep it thematically appropriate as much as possible since these are saga quests.
All of the standard Gandalf toys are present. Unexpected Courage goes on him, as does Steward of Gondor. The somewhat costly allies make Flame of Anor and Taking Initiative easier to use.
The Veteran Axehand is meant to represent Gimli, and the Northern Tracker is Aragorn. Faramir doesn't quite belong in here at this point in the saga, but he's super helpful in games.
